Trauma
I always knew I had a shitty childhood, but I only really started studying trauma, PTSD and resilience after surviving a hijacking, kidnapping and attempted rape at age 18.
What I’ve come to realise is that most people simply don’t understand trauma.
Very often both my clients or members of my private online support group Freedom from Trauma & PTSD say that they didn’t realise something that they considered insignificant or not “real” trauma could end up being an issues years, if not decades later.
The reason for this is simple.
Our mind doesn’t rate trauma. We do that because that’s how society has trained us to be.
We categorise events into what I call newsworthy and non-newsworthy trauma and believe only epic, newsworthy trauma needs to be recognised and treated.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that. To our mind trauma is trauma. Whether you were bullied at school, or had emotionally unavailable parents; you could suffer the same feelings of not being good enough, or feeling different to everyone around you just- as much as someone who has experienced assault or abuse.
My mission is to help every client realise that their trauma doesn’t have to be validated by the public to be real and that regardless of what hand life has dealt you, you deserve to be helped and to move on to live a healthy, happy and fulfilled life. Trauma should be only one page of your story, not the entire book.
Regardless of where you find yourself on your healing journey, I have a solution for you whether it be one of my self-study programs, working with me privately on a 1-to-1 basis or my group program Freedom from Your Traumatic Childhood.
I invite you to schedule a free breakthrough call with me so that I can help you find a solution that is best for you.
